I am an Eberly Postdoctoral Scholar in Physics at Penn State. My research involves theoretical modelling of physical processes operating in high-energy transients (e.g. GRBs, FRBs, BNS/BHNS mergers) and predicting future observations from the next-generation telescopes. I obtained my Ph.D. in Physics from UT Austin in 2020, where my dissertation focussed on modelling source properties and population distributions of FRBs. Prior to joining Penn State, I was a postdoctoral research associate at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg. I have been actively developing theoretical models and computational tools necessary to address questions like: What are the sources and composition for ultra-high-energy cosmic ray particles? How can we efficiently follow-up the EM counterparts from GW signals? How do we constrain the source properties of FRBs directly from their observables? What is the radiation mechanism for the GRB prompt emission spectrum? Please visit https://mukulbhattacharya1.wixsite.com/mukulb for links to my CV, list of publications and detailed explanation of my research work. I may be reached at mmb5946@psu.edu.
